Noir photography
Noir-style photography is my flavor of the week. Supposedly, noir-style anything gets its roots from German Expressionism, which involved a number of creative outlets and peaked during the 1920′s. Anyway, here is my go at it. All photos are copyright Kate Anthony 2011 and can be purchased on my photography website.

I love your use of lighting in these noir shots. I also didn’t know noir came out of German expressionism.
Thank you, I did not know that either. Thanks for reading/looking!

I don’t know anything about photography so I will make no effort to try to “talk shop”. If I go anywhere I just buy some post cards to keep because if I take pictures there is always this black log in the middle and found out you don’t put your finger over the lens. From an art perspective of which I do know something about I think this style is of merit because of the black/white contrast, the use of light, and the composition and positioning of the subject. Thanks visit my blog.
Hi,
Love the photos, being an animal lover of course I would have to say I love the animal photos the best. Well done.
Thank You for following my blog.
My pleasure! You’ve got some great stuff as well!
Stunning, bigger than life effect… The child staring at you on the second to the last photo is moving. Dramatic shots… Beautiful!
Thanks so much! Yes that is one of my favorite shots. On one leg of our trip into the Amazon we were on this canoe for a few hours. The girl and her mom hoped on last minute and she was so patient the whole time. We stopped at a random bank of the river and they scurried into the thick.
Your go at it!? I beg for rephrasing. You mean your professional take on it.
Blushing, once again!
thanks for stopping by my blog … great photos
